Cohen has been a licensed Marriage and family therapist since 1987.

She was the clinical program director for adult
and adolescent outpatient drug and alcohol program family services for 17 years. She was a clinical director for counseling
services in a rape crisis counseling agency. She was an adjunct professor at the University of La Verne and Mount St. Mary’
College, since 1989. She is also an intergenerational family therapist and has given workshops in California, Boston, Virginia
and London on multicultural intergenerational multi-family therapy. She is a published author in the book Domestic Violence
Therapy: A Case book for Mental Health Professionals published by Springer 2008. She provides intern supervision and is a
BBSE continuing education provider (PCE4026).
